Auctions are beginning to take the forefront as the best way to sell
Real Estate and liquidate assets, but the auction method is nothing
new. People have been selling by auction for centuries. The ancient
Romans used auctions liquidate the spoils of war and the Roman
citizens knew that the auction began when the centurion thrust his
spear into the ground. Today there is a new Spear in the auction
business: Richard Spear, founder of Spear Auctioneers, Inc.
Spear Auctioneers is a full-service auction company that was
established in 1984 in the town of Russellville, Arkansas. The company
specializes in Real Estate and personal property including
liquidations, estates, bankruptcy, and farm-machinery. Annual Real
Estate sales are currently in excess if $3 million.
Spear Auctioneers maintains a full staff during the office hours of
8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
Friday. The new office is located at 605 E. Parkway, Russellville, AR
72801. The latest technology is used in clerking sales including a
wireless computer system and a customer data base. All sellers
receive computer printouts of their entire sale upon completion of the
auction. Cash, checks, Mastercard, and Visa are all accepted.
Richard Spear is the broker and main auctioneer. He holds a bachelors
degree in business administration from Kansas State University and an
MBA from Mississippi College. He is also a graduate of Mason City
College of Auctioneering and Mendenhall School of Auctioneering. In
addition he earned a certificate from the Certified Auctioneers
Institute (CAI) for auctioneering and a certificate from the Graduate
Realtors Institute (GRI) for Real Estate.
Richard is a past president of the Arkansas State Auctioneers
Association. He has also been named the Arkansas State Bid Calling
Champion. He and his wife Neta live on a small farm in Russellville
where they enjoy their horses, dogs, cats, and the company of nearby
children and grandchildren.
